Health and Social Care provision is central to the maintenance of a healthy population. The necessity for a skilled, competent and responsive professional workforce is central to this.
The Herefordshire and Worcestershire community needs a well trained workforce to meet the needs of a diverse community.
The Health and Social Care sector consists of a wide range of organizations, including the:
- voluntary sector (NSPCC, MIND)
- statutory sector (NHS, local authority)
- private sector (nursing homes, nurseries)
- informal sector (carers, informal support groups)
The sector is constantly changing and this requires a flexible and responsive workforce. The Lifelong Learning Network aims to support this by:
- Involving employers in the development, design, delivery of curricula where possible
- Assisting in the provision of clear information for all stakeholders
- Providing a wide-ranging network and infrastructure of communication
